Job Title: Part-Time Kitchen Assistant  

Location: Dorman Road Shop, Qualicum Beach, B.C. 

Hours: Part-time. Must be flexible and available Thursday through Saturday.  

Compensation: $19.00 per hour to start. Training will be fully provided.  

About Us: Catie’s Hot Dilled Beans & Art Gallery is a small-batch, handcrafted food company based on Vancouver Island. We specialize in premium artisan preserves, pickled items, and seasonal fruit features. We take immense pride in supporting our network of local farmers and providing our community with high-quality, real food. Our production property is a strictly smoke-free environment.  

The Role:  

We are looking for a mature, reliable, and hardworking individual to join our small kitchen staff for the peak summer season and beyond. This is a physical, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment.  

Core Responsibilities:  

  • Preparing fresh, local vegetables for production (washing, peeling, slicing, chopping).  

  • Packing jars uniformly to maintain our high aesthetic and quality standards.  

  • Washing kitchen equipment, bins, and production tools thoroughly.  

  • Maintaining a pristine, sanitized, and organized workspace.  

  • Safely moving inventory and lifting crates or boxes up to 25 lbs.  

Requirements & Qualifications:  

  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is mandatory.  

  • Must comply fully with all provincial food sanitation regulations.  

  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and comfortably lift 25 lbs.  

  • Prior kitchen experience is a bonus, but we are completely willing to train the right person from scratch if you possess a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.  

  • A sharp eye for detail, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for the local food movement on Vancouver Island.
